You’re going to love this week’s episode with the amazing Coach James Thomas! James is the Head Track & Field | Cross Country Coach at the University of Oklahoma. He recently completed his second season leading the Sooners, guiding the program to historic national and conference success.
His Key Achievements include:
• Led OU women’s team to a program-best 4th-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships.
• Coached the men’s team to a 6th-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
• First time in school history both men’s and women’s teams finished top 15 at both Indoor and Outdoor Nationals in the same season.
• In Oklahoma’s inaugural SEC season:
• 4 National Champions
• 27 All-Americans
• 8 SEC Champions
• 19 School Records
• Named 2025 Women’s Indoor & Men’s Outdoor Regional Head Coach of the Year
James Became a sooner fan The day he was hired in December 2023.
His favorite sooner memory is Seeing our women’s team raise their first NCAA indoor trophy last fall.
